بعد فترة طويلة، آن لأعمال كافكا الكاملة أن تظهر. قدمنا له مختارات من القصة الطويلة بعنوان "الدودة الهائلة"، وفي هذا القسم الثاني نقدم مجموعة الرسائل الكاملة إلى ميلينا حبيبته وصديقته ومترجمته:

كافكا في رسائله هنا، لامرأة متزوجة، إنسان عذب، زايله التوتر مؤقتا، واسترخى عاشقا، في غير انتباه، لآلهات النقمة اللائي يطاردنه: (الزهور تتفتح في بطء أمام شرفتي... وتزورني في الغرفة السحالي والطيور وأنواع متباينة من الكائنات، أزواجا أزواجا... إنني أتوق في لهفة بالغة إلى أن تكوني هنا في ميران!) أو هكذا يتشبث بقمة سياج الحياة، ثم يسقط سريعا، متراجعا، بأيد جريحة متسلخة.
