<![CDATA[Dance, Stand, Run: The God-Inspired Moves of a Woman on Holy Ground]]> 34679099
Beloved writer, speaker, and bestselling coauthor of Wild and Free Jess Connolly will be the first to admit that not long ago, like many women, she grasped grace but she had forgotten holiness. Dance, Stand, Run charts her discovery that holiness was never meant to be a shaming reminder of what we “should be doing, but rather a profound privilege of becoming more like Christ. That’s when we start to change the world, rather than being changed by it.

Dance, Stand, Run is an invitation to the daughters of God to step into the movements of abundant life: dancing in grace, standing firm in holiness, and running on mission. Through story and study, Jess casts a fresh vision for how to live into your identity as a holy daughter of God, how to break free of cheap grace and empty rule-keeping, and finally, how to live out your holy influence with confidence before a watching world. Spoiler alert: it’s a beautiful thing.

For anyone longing to take their place in what God is doing in the world, Dance, Stand, Run will rally your strength, refresh your purpose, and energize your faith in a God who calls us to be like Him.]]>

The Imperfects 45422542
“A page-turning family saga, this book will entertain readers of all generations. Good Morning America

“Compassionate, thoughtful, and surprisingly moving [ The Imperfects ] will satisfy fans of Maggie Shipstead and Celeste Ng. —Booklist

From the bestselling author of The Bookshop of Yesterdays comes a captivating new novel about a priceless inheritance that leads one family on a life-altering pursuit of the truth.

The Millers are far from perfect. Estranged siblings Beck, Ashley and Jake find themselves under one roof for the first time in years, forced to confront old resentments and betrayals, when their mysterious, eccentric matriarch, Helen, passes away. But their lives are about to change when they find a secret inheritance hidden among her possessions—the Florentine Diamond, a 137-carat yellow gemstone that went missing from the Austrian Empire a century ago.

Desperate to learn how one of the world’s most elusive diamonds ended up in Helen’s bedroom, they begin investigating her past only to realize how little they know about their brave, resilient grandmother. As the Millers race to determine whether they are the rightful heirs to the diamond and the fortune it promises, they uncover a past more tragic and powerful than they ever could have imagined, forever changing their connection to their heritage and each other.

Inspired by the true story of the real, still-missing Florentine Diamond, The Imperfects illuminates the sacrifices we make for family and how sometimes discovering the truth of the past is the only way to better the future.]]>

Wahala 57797679 An incisive and exhilarating debut novel of female friendship following three Anglo-Nigerian best friends and the lethally glamorous fourth woman who infiltrates their group—the most unforgettable girls since Carrie, Samantha, Charlotte, and Miranda.

Ronke wants happily ever after and 2.2. kids. She’s dating Kayode and wants him to be “the one (perfect, like her dead father). Her friends think he’s just another in a long line of dodgy Nigerian boyfriends.

Boo has everything Ronke wants—a kind husband, gorgeous child. But she’s frustrated, unfulfilled, plagued by guilt, and desperate to remember who she used to be.

Simi is the golden one with the perfect lifestyle. No one knows she’s crippled by impostor syndrome and tempted to pack it all in each time her boss mentions her “urban vibe. Her husband thinks they’re trying for a baby. She’s not.

When the high-flying, charismatic Isobel explodes into the group, it seems at first she’s bringing out the best in each woman. (She gets Simi an interview in Hong Kong! Goes jogging with Boo!) But the more Isobel intervenes, the more chaos she sows, and Ronke, Simi, and Boo’s close friendship begins to crack.

A sharp, modern take on friendship, ambition, culture, and betrayal, Wahala (trouble) is an unforgettable novel from a brilliant new voice.]]>

Zadie Anson and Emma Colley have been best friends since their early twenties, when they first began navigating serious romantic relationships amid the intensity of medical school. Now they're happily married wives and mothers with successful careers--Zadie as a pediatric cardiologist and Emma as a trauma surgeon. Their lives in Charlotte, North Carolina, are chaotic but fulfilling, until the return of a former colleague unearths a secret one of them has been harboring for years.

As chief resident, Nick Xenokostas was the center of Zadie's life--both professionally and personally--throughout a tragic chain of events during her third year of medical school that she has long since put behind her. Nick's unexpected reappearance at a time of new professional crisis shocks both women into a deeper look at the difficult choices they made at the beginning of their careers. As it becomes evident that Emma must have known more than she revealed about circumstances that nearly derailed both their lives, Zadie starts to question everything she thought she knew about her closest friend.]]>

<![CDATA[Beloved Mess: God's Perfect Love for Your Imperfect Life]]> 27066899 Life is messy. And Christians are not exempt. Unfortunately, this is not the message we tend to hear. We're told to be moral, look good, and set a positive example. After all, as some people may tell us, we're the only Jesus some people see--so we better make him look good. That's a heavy burden. And so we work feverishly to hide our messes from each other and from God for fear of judgment . . . all the while wondering how we can ever be loved.
But Christianity is not about being less of a mess. It's about admitting that we need to be saved "from" trying to clean ourselves up. In "Beloved Mess," author and blogger Kimm Crandall frees Christians to live with the assurance that God loves us right here, right now. He's not waiting for us to clean up our act before we're worthy to come to him. He wants us to stop trying to fix the mess so that we can allow him to wash it away for us.]]>

<![CDATA[Tell It Well: How to Discover, Own and Share Your Story Well]]> 33516866
Tell It Well is split into three sections, Discover Your Story, Own Your Story and Share Your Story. Each section walks you through a different portion of the process from identifying your story to sharing it.

Discover Your Story focuses on uncovering what ‘your story means and why it is an important piece to understanding your value, purpose, relationship with God and ability to create open and honest conversations about faith and religion.

Own Your Story is full of practical steps, advice and examples of how to form your story. You will be challenged to look deeper and wider at your circumstances to find all the special ways God has created and called you.

Share Your Story is where we discuss how your story plays into the bigger picture of spiritual dialogue in our culture. We’ll dive into questions like; What does it mean to find common ground without wavering in your convictions? How can you start a conversation about faith that is based on common ground and understanding? And, How can we overcome negative stereotypes through our personal stories?

Each chapter has a set of reflection questions at the end, which makes Tell It Well a great resource for group discussion.

This book is written for anyone that wants to know how their experiences play into God’s larger story.

You will love Tell It Well if any of the following are true:

- You love Jesus but have a hard time talking about him or explaining your faith in conversation

- You believe there’s purpose in all of life’s seasons but you’re having a hard time identifying what that purpose is right now

- You want to learn more about creating authentic, open conversations about faith and religion with your peers

- You feel like life has been an up and down rollercoaster, or scattered all over the place, and you want to find a storyline to help you make sense of it all

- You lead or mentor people in their walks with God and want to help them root their identity in Christ and own their personal relationship with him

Knowing what your story is, and realize that it is immensely valuable, is all you need to present a faith in Christ that is vibrant, powerful and relevant. If you know your story, you are equipped to share Jesus in a meaningful way. Tell It Well will guide you on the journey to discovering how to share your God-given story.]]>

Head: Human Life BeginsWhen?

No issue is more divisive or troubling than abortion. Many believe that we have to choose between helping women and helping children. This book shows how critical it is that we help both. In a concise, non-abrasive fashion, Randy Alcorn offers compassionate, factual answers to the central issues of the abortion debate.

[Insert Sarah Marie Switzer image] An award-winning photo of an operation on Sarah Marie Switzer, a twenty-four-week unborn child with spina bifida. Sarah, here grasping a surgeon’s finger, was reinserted into her mother’s womb and born two months later, nine weeks premature.

[Insert 3-D Real-Time ultrasound image] A 3-D ultrasound photo of a baby 21 weeks after conception—just over halfway through the pregnancy. Modern technology offers a window to the womb that is changing the face of the abortion debate.

Story Behind the Book

There have always been likable people who hold to wrong positions on ethical issues—including slavery and anti-Semitism. Sincere people can be wrong and often are. We need a clear presentation of what is true. Randy Alcorn has intervened for the unborn and their mothers—and at great personal cost. In writing this book on one of today’s critical issues, he has endeavored to lay out well-supported facts on why the pro-life position is right and true when it comes to valuing human life.]]>

Akin 43722187

Noah Selvaggio is a retired chemistry professor and widower living on the Upper West Side, but born in the South of France. He is days away from his first visit back to Nice since he was a child, bringing with him a handful of puzzling photos he's discovered from his mother's wartime years. But he receives a call from social Noah is the closest available relative of an eleven-year-old great-nephew he's never met, who urgently needs someone to look after him. Out of a feeling of obligation, Noah agrees to take Michael along on his trip.

Much has changed in this famously charming seaside mecca, still haunted by memories of the Nazi occupation. The unlikely duo, suffering from jet lag and culture shock, bicker about everything from steak frites to screen time. But Noah gradually comes to appreciate the boy's truculent wit, and Michael's ease with tech and sharp eye help Noah unearth troubling details about their family's past. Both come to grasp the risks people in all eras have run for their loved ones, and find they are more akin than they knew.

Written with all the tenderness and psychological intensity that made Room an international bestseller, Akin is a funny, heart-wrenching tale of an old man and a boy, born two generations apart, who unpick their painful story and start to write a new one together.

"What begins as a larky story of unlikely male bonding turns into an off-center but far richer novel about the unheralded, imperfect heroism of two women." -- New York Times]]>

Astray 16157551
The colourful, fascinating characters that roam the pages of Emma Donoghue's stories have all gone astray: they are emigrants, runaways, drifters, lovers old and new. They cross other borders too: those of race, law, sex and sanity. They travel for love or money, incognito or under duress.

With rich detail, the celebrated author of Room takes us from puritan Massachusetts to the Yukon gold rush, antebellum Louisiana to a 1960s Toronto highway. Astray offers us a surprising and moving history for restless times.]]>

The Life Lucy Knew 36264106
After hitting her head, Lucy Sparks awakens in the hospital to a shocking revelation: the man she's known and loved for years-the man she recently married-is not actually her husband. In fact, they haven't even spoken since their breakup four years earlier. The happily-ever-after she remembers in vivid detail-right down to the dress she wore to their wedding-is only one example of what her doctors call a false memory: recollections Lucy's mind made up to fill in the blanks from the coma.

Her psychologist explains the condition as honest lying, because while Lucy's memories are false, they still feel incredibly real. Now she has no idea which memories she can trust-a devastating experience not only for Lucy, but also for her family, friends and especially her devoted boyfriend, Matt, whom Lucy remembers merely as a work colleague.

When the life Lucy believes she had slams against the reality she's been living for the past four years, she must make a difficult choice about which life she wants to lead, and who she really is.]]>

<![CDATA[Hope Heals: A True Story of Overwhelming Loss and an Overcoming Love]]> 26263505
Katherine and Jay married right after college and sought adventure far from home in Los Angeles, CA. As they pursued their dreams, they planted their lives in the city and in their church community. Their son, James, came along unexpectedly in the fall of 2007, and just 6 months later, everything changed in a moment for this young family.

On April 21, 2008, as James slept in the other room, Katherine collapsed, suffering a massive brain stem stroke without warning. Miraculously, Jay came home in time and called for help. Katherine was immediately rushed into micro-brain surgery, though her chance of survival was slim. As the sun rose the next morning, the surgeon proclaimed that Katherine had survived the removal of part of her brain, though her future recovery was completely uncertain. Yet in that moment, there was a spark of hope. Through 40 days on life support in the ICU and nearly 2 years in full-time brain rehab, that spark of hope was fanned into flame.

Defying every prognosis, with grit and grace, Katherine and Jay, side by side, struggled to regain a life for Katherine as she re-learned to talk and eat and walk. Returning home with a severely disabled body but a completely renewed purpose, they committed to celebrate this gift of a second chance by embracing life fully, even though that life looked very different than they could have ever imagined. In the midst of continuing hardships and struggles, both in body and mind, Katherine and Jay found what we all long to find...hope, hope that heals the most broken place, our souls.

An excruciating yet beautiful road to recovery has led the Wolf family to their new normal, in which almost every moment of life is marked with the scars of that fateful April day in 2008. Now, eight years later, Katherine and Jay are stewarding their story of suffering, restoration, and Christ-centered hope in this broken world through their ministry Hope Heals.]]>

<![CDATA[What If Jesus Was Serious?: A Visual Guide to the Teachings of Jesus We Love to Ignore]]> 52719514 Daily Devotions for People Who Hate Daily Devotions

Let’s face it. A lot of Christian resources can feel cheesy, out-of-touch, and a little boring. But when Skye Jethani started doodling and writing up some of his thoughts about God, his Twitter and email list blew up. What If Jesus Was Serious? is a compilation of all-new reflections (and hand-drawn doodles) from Skye. He takes a look at some of Jesus most demanding teachings in the Sermon on the Mount and pushes us to ask whether we’re really hearing what Christ is saying. The visual component of the book makes it memorable and enjoyable to read, and Skye’s incisive reflections make it worthwhile for any Christian. If you’ve traditionally been dissatisfied with Christian devotional resources but love to learn about Jesus and think deeply, this book was written for you.]]>

If you have ever said any of these things to yourself . . .

Something else will make me happy.
 I’m not a good mom.
I will never get past this.
I am defined by my weight.
I should be further along by now.

. . . then you could benefit from the unflinching faith and rock-hard tenacity Rachel Hollis has in store for you. In this challenging but conversational book, Rachel exposes the twenty lies and misconceptions that too often hold us back from living joyfully and productively, lies we’ve told ourselves so often we don’t even hear them anymore.

Rachel is real and talks about real issues. More than that, she reveals the specific practical strategies that helped her move past them. In the process, she encourages, entertains, and even kicks a little butt, all to convince you to do whatever it takes to get real and become the joyous, confident woman you were meant to be. Because you really can live with passion and hustle and give yourself grace without giving up.]]>

<![CDATA[She's Still There: Rescuing the Girl in You]]> 33098674
Speaker, blogger and writer Chrystal Evans Hurst wrote this book because she was that woman. One day she realized that she had somehow wandered away from the life that she had purposed to live a long time ago.

Chrystal since discovered that this moment of awareness happens to lots of women at different seasons of their lives. Poor decisions, a lack of intentionality or planning, or a long-term denial of deep hopes and dreams can leave a woman, old or young, reeling from the realization that she is lost, disappointed, or simply numb.

And she just needs encouragement.

This woman simply needs someone to hold her hand, to cheer her on, and to believe with her that she is capable of still being the person she intended to be or discovering the girl she never knew was there in the first place.

Chrystal uses her poignant story of an early and unexpected pregnancy, as well as other raw and vulnerable moments in her life, to let readers know she understands what it’s like to try and find your way after some missteps or decisions you didn’t plan on. In She’s Still There Chrystal emphasizes the importance of the personal process and the beauty of that path as it is shared authentically from one girlfriend to another. It’s a book of “me toos, reminders of the hoped for, and challenges for the path ahead—to find direction, purpose, and true satisfaction.]]>

<![CDATA[Fervent: A Woman's Battle Plan to Serious, Specific and Strategic Prayer]]> 25245760
So this book is your chance to strike back. With prayer. With a weapon that really works. Each chapter will guide you in crafting prayer strategies that hit the enemy where it hurts, letting him know you’re on to him and that you won’t back down. Because with every new strategy you build, you’re turning the fiercest battles of life into precise strikes against him and his handiwork, each one infused with the power of God’s Spirit.

New York Times bestselling author Priscilla Shirer, widely known for her international speaking, teaching, and writing ministries, brings her new role from the 2015 film War Room into the real lives of today’s women, addressing the topics that affect them most: renewing their passion , refocusing their identity , negotiating family strife, dealing with relentless regrets , navigating impossible schedules , succeeding against temptation , weathering their worst fears , uprooting bitterness , and more. Each chapter exposes the enemy’s cruel, crafty intentions in all kinds of these areas, then equips and encourages you to write out your own personalized prayer strategies on tear-out sheets you can post and pray over yourself and your loved ones on a regular basis.

Fervent is a hands-on, knees-down, don’t-give-up action guide to practical, purposeful praying.

Chasing God 18113512
But you aren’t convinced you really know Him.

Angie Smith understands, because she had run circles around the same paths searching for Him, frustrated at her lack of progress. And she probably would have continued to do so had it not been for one realization that changed everything.

She wasn’t following God; she was trying to catch up with Him.

And without realizing it, you may be as well.

It’s a distinction that affects every aspect of our lives with Christ, and it begins with learning where we’ve relied more on man’s explanation of God than God Himself.

So many requirements, so many rules, and so much guilt where there is supposed to be freedom. It’s the reason you wonder if you’ve measured up, and the nagging voice that tells you you’re a failure as a Christian.

Three simple words changed everything for Angie, and she believes they can do the same for you.

<![CDATA[Chase Bible Study Guide: Chasing After the Heart of God]]> 19048793 What are you chasing?

We’re all chasing after something, something that we think will make us happy—comfort, success, a bigger house, or someone’s approval. But if we are all honest, it feels like trying to catch the wind.

A man after God’s own heart As David’s life weaves throughout the pages of Scripture, we see he was a man who spent his life chasing after God. Chase explores the events that defined David’s life and the Psalms that flowed out of those experiences. Through David’s example we’ll discover what God really wants from us.

The lessons in this study guide are simple yet deep and very interactive, offering Bible study, stories, and projects to dig into Scripture and deeply engage the mind and heart. God has carved out a space in each of us that only He can fill. So whether you are running from God or working your tail off to please Him, David’s journey will challenge your view of God.

God is invisible, and yet He is the only thing we can chase that won’t leave us feeling more empty.

Not Forgotten 35687963
Not Forgotten tells the resilient story of a young girl who overcomes depression, suicidal thoughts and self-image issues through the power of Christ. When circumstance dictated that there was only one option, which was to give up, God showed up and told her otherwise-- she could push past fear, insecurity and shame and grow into the best version of herself because He was empowering her to do so.

In this book you are taken on a journey through the author’s life, from adolescence to young adulthood, and get a front row seat to her process to becoming whole. This book isn’t a 10-step guide to living a life free from the bondage of sin and past failures, but the principles Christy outlines in this book can be applied to any person’s life no matter how close or far they may feel from God.]]>

Eve in Exile sets aside all stereotypes of mid-century housewives, of China-doll femininity, of Victorians fainting, of women not allowed to think for themselves or talk to the men about anything interesting or important. It dismisses the pencil-skirted and stiletto-heeled executives of TV, the outspoken feminists freed from all that hinders them, the brave career women in charge of their own destinies. Once those fictionalized stereotypes are out of the way—whether they're things that make you gag or things you think look pretty fun—Christians can focus on real women. Wish I had it when I was younger... Alieya's parents seem absolutely wonderful - exactly like godly parents should be: loving, open to sharing the gospel with their children, and also available to teach and answer any questions! Even though, sometimes parents don't know all the answers - it's important that they try!! And that's exactly what Alieya's Mother did. She tried.

This book is well written, and I can definitely see the love that was put into it. I loved the part about the shooting stars, I'll definitely never look at one the same again!

I also loved how Susan used scripture to back up what she wrote about. That's so important.

And, those illustrations. Absolutely gorgeous!!!

I totally recommend this book! 💗💕]]>

Share in her struggles, as she desperately tries to honor God in her heart and life, while standing against unbelievable attacks by so many she trusted. Join her as she discovers what God's true heart is for her, as she embraces being led by God, step by step, to be the Christian God wants us all to be.

This is a powerful story of grace, forgiveness, hope and extending God’s love to others. It is a book about her love and passion for Jesus, and one we can all learn from. Read how Laura truly does ‘turn the other cheek in her darkest moments and does it with God’s gentleness and grace.

Her willingness to be open, humble and real in this book, and to ‘put it all out there is an encouragement for us all. If you truly want to understand what having God’s love means, then this is a book you need to have.

It is a beautiful testament of a heart willing, devoted and passionate for Jesus.]]>

<![CDATA[How to Live a Godly Life: Things I Learned in my Walk with the LORD]]> 35713954
How to Live a Godly Life is meant to inspire and encourage others to learn the truth, believe it and accept it, start a life-saving relationship with the Lord, or if they already went through the five steps to enter into a right-relationship with the Lord, to strengthen their faith. People need to know the truth about Jesus and God in order to be able to consider making the decision to seek a right relationship with Him. I use my real-life situations, mistakes I have made, and blessings that have been bestowed upon me by the LORD from my life with the intention of the readers learning from my mistakes, finding encouragement from similar difficult situations they may be facing, and also encouragement that God does answer prayers and shower us with His blessings. I back up every piece of advice with Scriptures that are in line with the different topics I cover.

I wrote this book to inspire and encourage others and build up their faith in the Lord, or bring them into a right relationship with the Lord if they are not already. My objective and hope is that the people who read it either take the steps to enter into a right relationship with the Lord, reconnect with the Lord if the right relationship is already there, or consider a different perspective one might not have considered. It is also a book where people can find the right, truthful information about God, Jesus, the Holy Spirit, and the Bible, and with the Scriptures I quote or mention, readers can check that the information is true and accurate, and that I am using the verses within their proper context. My advice is based on my own unique perspective based on my own trials over the past 4 years, since I first started writing about what I had been learning in my walk with the Lord (I did not start writing about it until June of 2013), which officially started April 18th, 2012 when I was baptized, but seeking began in December 2009. I want to help others enter into, or return to, a soul-saving relationship with the Lord, and that is why I hope (the kind of hope anchored to the Lord) you will consider publishing my book.]]>

<![CDATA[I've Never Been to Vegas, but My Luggage Has: Mishaps and Miracles on the Road to Happily Ever After]]> 18126819
Wrong turns, humiliating flops, painful heartbreaks--and happiness? Yes, believe it or not, they can go hand in hand. Blogger and author Mandy Hale, affectionately known as "The Single Woman" to her half-million social-media followers, is living an adventurous life that proves even our lowest lows and messiest mess-ups can point us toward our joy-filled destiny as single women.

In I've Never Been To Vegas , But My Luggage Has ,Mandy delivers heart-to-heart, often hilarious stories from a life filled with love and loss, glamour and goose bumps, faith and friendship, big dreams and battle scars. She shares the bittersweet euphoria of her high-school romance, the panic-stricken cluelessness of her first day on a stressful job, and the foot-in-mouth horror of her red-carpet interview with a music legend.

Along the way, Mandy dollops personal anecdotes with encouraging insights. From thrilling first kisses to crushing break-ups, from soaring career milestones to promising flights that never quite got off the ground, she unfolds in often uproarious detail the zigzags along the path toward a pinnacle sharing a table and a pinch-me-I'm-dreaming conversation with her lifelong hero.

In the end, Mandy turns Sin City's infamous marketing slogan on its What happens in her life doesn't stay in her life. She shares even her darkest moments in witty, winsome ways that make us not only feel her pain, but also laugh with her and apply her hard-won nuggets of inspiration to our own lives.

"Happily Ever After" might not look or feel quite like what we expect, but as Mandy is discovering--and as we can discover along with her--it is well within our reach.]]>

Where'd You Go, Bernadette 13526165
When her daughter Bee claims a family trip to Antarctica as a reward for perfect grades, Bernadette, a fiercely intelligent shut-in, throws herself into preparations for the trip. But worn down by years of trying to live the Seattle life she never wanted, Ms. Fox is on the brink of a meltdown. And after a school fundraiser goes disastrously awry at her hands, she disappears, leaving her family to pick up the pieces--which is exactly what Bee does, weaving together an elaborate web of emails, invoices, and school memos that reveals a secret past Bernadette has been hiding for decades. Where'd You Go Bernadette is an ingenious and unabashedly entertaining novel about a family coming to terms with who they are and the power of a daughter's love for her mother.]]>
