I’ve officially finished this book, and I want to thank PR Love Notes so much for giving me the opportunity to read this advanced reader copy. This was my first book by this author, and I have to say I’m absolutely thrilled I got to read it.

The premise really grabbed me from the start—it reminded me a bit of the Korean drama What’s Wrong with Secretary Kim. It had that boss-assistant vibe, though the situations are completely different. But the energy was similar, and I really enjoyed that.

Isaac was a complex character. He had strong convictions, but his obsession with work really got on my nerves. I’m not a fan of that type of character. However, Charlotte managed to balance him out. She fit into a mold where nothing existed before, and that’s something I really appreciated about the story.

It was a bit hard to read at times, mostly because of Isaac’s mindset. He’s stubborn, obsessive, and I would’ve loved if that obsession had been more focused on Charlotte as a partner, rather than everything around them. That said, the way things wrapped up was really well done and it elevated the story for me.

Is it worth reading? Yes.
Will it frustrate you? Definitely.
Is it a super slow-burn romance? Absolutely.
Is it closed-door? Yes—and honestly, I liked that. I think adding spicy scenes would’ve made the whole dynamic feel more chaotic, and it might have taken away from the emotional development between them.
