I watched the movie adaptation of Aristotle and Dante Discover the Secrets of the Universe over the weekend and I really enjoyed it! Of course watching it also made me want to reread the book. The last time I read it was literally 10 years ago. Even though it had been so long there were still so many parts of the book that stood out clearly in my mind.

I had an amazing time rereading this. It’s just so full of emotion and beautiful scenes. The explorations of Ari’s loneliness and his complicated relationship with his dad really stood out to me this time around. Of course his friendship with Dante and how that evolves and changes over the story was also so touching. While heavy and upsetting things do happen in the book it’s not a tragic story.

Now I definitely need to pick up the sequel. I can’t believe that’s been out for 2 years and I never got around to reading it.

This is the third time I’ve read this book and I love it more than ever. I don’t even remember why I rated this 4 stars in the first place, but it’s definitely a 5 star book for me now.
