As a kid I always had to have a glass of water before bed because if I didn’t I would drown in my sleep. I’ve outgrown that one, but when I was little if I didn’t have a glass of water before bed I’d dream of drowning and on the nights I did drink water I wouldn’t. So my brain made it something I had to do because it noticed a pattern. So is it something like that?) Also what would happen if the number couldn’t be divided by three?
Blackwell intrigued me, but not enough to continue although I do know who he is and how it ends because I was trying to figure out how many pages was in the book and I just happened to read the last two chapters and epilogue to get to it :p
The first two chapters were so beautiful and I actually liked the characters and wanted to know more about the world. Then we got to Phantasma and maybe you’ll love it if you’ve never read a book with a labyrinth in it, but I’ve read several and it didn’t feel like anything new. *runs and hides before the avid fans finish reading the last sentence*

I have never cringed so hard over characters kissing in my life and I had to DNF the book a little over halfway through because after that one kiss every interaction between Blackwell and Ophelia� let’s just say the last time I felt this ick over a love interest interaction was 17 years ago reading the Swan Maiden book by Jules Watson. The interactions felt a lot like that except less detail and Phantasma is supposed to be a dark romance.

If you are looking for a slice of life read then this is the book for you. If you’re in it for the romance, save your money because it takes forever to get to the romance and the chemistry between any of the characters is flat and questionable.

This book is better then I remember because I know who the killer is and yet I still couldn’t pick him out of a line up. When I first read the book it unnerved me, but now it kind of makes you feel like the main characters because they couldn’t figure it out until it was too late.
I felt the characters more keenly this time and I think reading book 2 helped me enjoy Kovac and Liska more in this book, but Quinn and Kate will always have my heart.
This book is what I look for in a thriller/murder mystery/police procedure story like it feels like the author took the time to do research and ask the hard questions. I love how the book can still surprise me even though I knew certain things (and clearly forgot others).
1000000% recommend this book to those who like their main characters to be tired but still keep trucking along hoping they can make a difference to someone, killers that might need help on more than one level, sassy side characters, romance sub plot, murder investigations that are twisted, just don’t feel like sleeping :)

Excuse me while I ugly cry that ending was so sweet. And I loved all the Christmas Carol references and Stanley Mann honestly he made the book. The only reason it isn’t getting five stars is that it was way too slow in the beginning and I kind of forgot one of the characters had a pov because it took forever to get back to them. It did balance out more near the halfway mark, but the pacing was a little rocky.
However, watching the characters grow and realizing they need each other in their lives was such a Hallmark moment (and I’m a sucker for hallmark movies).
I feel like this is an excellent Christmas book to read around December. It’s a clean romance with a strong message of family, friendship, and trying to live your life once someone you love dies.

This is a great YA book I just don’t know if I’d classify it as horror. Like nothing in the book terrified me and when it had the chance to it would back off like it didn’t want to fully commit. But this book is excellent at friendships, what lengths one will go to to embrace themselves, family (the ones you have and the ones you gain when you don’t let fear hold you back), embracing one’s culture, breaking cycles. All of these are strong in the book and kind of overshadow the horror in the book (either that or I’ve read too many faceless “villains� that the horror didn’t have a strong impact on me).
I do love that we don’t have all the answers but at the same time I would have loved to have learned more about the Ragged Man and the Unfinished over how many times Key puts his hand over Avery’s on a counter (at least four times in one paragraph).

A cute, quirky, fun middle grade book that’ll have you rooting for Mr. Aidact and the middle school kids by the end of the book. It’s a multi pov told from both kids and adults which made the story enjoyable because you got to see both sides and laugh because the adults are a tad clueless at times.

If anyone is looking for a middle school book I’d highly recommend this one:)

I love this book because for once a male author did not write a female character as a woman with bouncing boobs and a big ass. The characters felt like everyday people that you would meet on the street and I loved every moment of this book. Everything felt so flawless although I'm slightly concerned that she keeps seeing Ashley naked with a strong man's hands on her waist. This is a book that embraces girl power and is not ashamed of it.
Definitely a reread.

1: it’s okay it was all because of magic.
2: they get locked into a mental health facility and forced to take meds for their mental health.
3: they were somebody else entirely. They were never who we were lead to believe.

Why can’t a book ever end with yes they have mental health, but they are dealing with it in a way that doesn’t immediately require drugs. If authors want to break the stigma around mental health make it okay to talk about in books where it’s not because of one of those three endings.

It’s a good collection of stories. It’s just my main problem with classics: they’re too long winded. I know that was the style at the time, but honestly it felt like the story was meandering and my attention span decided it was just going to sit under the tree like Rip and wait for the story to figure out what it wants before I catch up to it.

It’s a cute little romp through a book. The illustrations were gorgeous and felt like you were reading an old fashioned fairytale.
My only serious complaint is that I wished it was a bit longer and maybe had a couple of things explained better because right now it’s on the assumption you’ve read all the other books and this book is my first jaunt into this author’s books :)

Excuse me while I try to come back to reality. Honestly, I loved getting the different pov and the first page that I had to flip to many times to remember who was who. And okay I knew part of the twist but not the whole twist like this book is so messed up I love it. It’s also a clean romance even if the romance isn’t the focal point of the story. I do love the character growth and Solomon is my favorite character I got so excited when I found out he was one of the pov’s.
This book does deal heavily with depression and suicidal tendencies so if that’s a trigger for you.

I do love that the author did try to bring attention to Unit 731 regardless of it being fictionally. It’s not something I’ve ever heard of before. I just feel like maybe it could’ve been done in a different way because I don’t think this book fully knew which direction it wanted to go.

A satisfying end to the series. I’m sad to say goodbye to the blood brothers because they were a joy to read. I also enjoyed how the author took the time to research what happened during that time period and merged fact with fiction.
