Welcome Mitch! Nice to e-meet you, as they say. My name is Pat, and I'm in central Mexico-have been for 20 years-and originally I'm from California. I'm a big fan of Lee Child, David Baldacci, and Clive Cussler, and I also write action thrillers.

Denise | 2 comments I’m 72 year old woman and live in Chesterfield, Derbyshire UK. I love reading and I’m in a book club so am reading a variety of books. My favourite authors are Patricia Cornwall, Kathy Reichs, Sophie Kinsella and Jenny Colgan among others but have discovered many more authors that I wouldn’t have read if it wasn’t for the book club.

Mark | 1 comments Hi to everyone.

I'm a surveyor, I own a sea kayak, live within a stone's throw of the briny and luckily work in coastal surveying.

I yearn for fiction that asks me think: join-the-dots, figure what is happening, where the plot is taking me.

Jenny | 4 comments Hi,

I'm heading south as soon as I can. I've stopped going out in the evenings: where I'm living, it's not safe.

Books are where I'll be for the foreseeable. Making friends would be good for me.

John Mulhall (johnmlhll) | 10 comments Howdy All,

I'm from Dublin, Ireland, and a keen reader. I like to keep fit, watch TV, go to movies, figure puzzles out, and write.

I'm also a veteran and a cloud engineer, journalist and now an author who has been on Å·±¦ÓéÀÖ for a while now.

As I'm an author, I hope I can hopfully introduce you to my debut novel at some point.

Hi Pat

Nice to meet ya also. Its a thriller of Jack Debaut and his war on terror. He was a US Army Ranger in Desert Storm, got injured and boarded from the Army.

His recovery saw him retrain as an engineer and get drawn into the murky world of intelligence and counterintelligence. His war on terror timeline was long as it was for the antagonist Saad al-Zahoni.

Their murky world is a complex plot of ruthless ambitions, neck breaking betrayals and characters doing their best in a world that never cuts them a break.

For release September 11th, I went wide with distributions, so Amazon and Kindle are just one choice.

Check it out below, and hit me up if any queries come to mind.

Beth | 2 comments Other than my horses, I did books in my school days (chick lit). I’m not happy with noisy places, so avoid the pubs and clubs: I fell off a horse when I was young and banged my tiny brain quite hard (weeks in the hospital, and I couldn’t remember too about it once they let me out). The doctors don’t know if that has anything to do with it - I just get wrinkly in crowded, noisy places. Even a household party makes my head buzz and me get bothered. I gave the books up once I was full-time on the farm, but now I'm without the TV and the books, good books this time around, are here to stay. Joining Å·±¦ÓéÀÖ has added to the pleasure.

Finn | 1 comments Hi, I'm fumbling around in European Modern history at the mo'. I hanker for thrilling reads but shy from today's melange of preposterous, shoot'em up, sex 'em up, save the world tack. I'm looking for thrillers (not limited to fiction) that has roots in the real-world and asks you to think about what is happening.

message 9475: by John (new)

John Mulhall (johnmlhll) | 10 comments Sounds like you are looking for my novel, From Terror to Valor: Echoes and Shadows. Release on September 11th it humanises the stories of those who fought in the war on terror and what lurks beneath the surface of it.

Ellie | 3 comments Hi,
I live in Bedford, UK.
I'm a nurse and work in a care home for the elderly. Fortunately for me, I have a room - I'm usually on call - and so, food is cooked for me, I have no need to commute and I've little interest in the television and, Bedford's main library is a fifteen-minute walk from my work.

message 9477: by Donna (new)

Donna | 3 comments I look after (clean and tidy) my parent's guest house (Bed without Breakfast) here in Portugal. It backs onto an orange grove that leads to the hills. It is pretty scenic. I enjoy my own space and the peace of reading.
I'm hoping to find friends and search out good, thrilling, reads.

HI Ellie. Welcome to Å·±¦ÓéÀÖ. Hope you find some good reads here: it will save you a fifteen minutes walk. You do a very important job. Many people are grateful for that .

Welcome Donna, Welcome Ellie

message 9480: by Ellie (new)

Ellie | 3 comments Thank you for the welcome, Sean. I've tried to reply to Mr Davies (PK). I can't manage it... can someone, please, send my message to him.

Dear Mr Davies, thank you for your kind words. I'm grateful to the people I care for. They are full of wisdom, wit, and wise cracks. I have such fun talking with them.
They say the most important part of nursing is talking with the patient, understanding them and answering their concerns. I'd say, the most enjoyable part of nursing is talking to the patient: it is really interesting and I learn a great deal about a great many things.
I hope to learn from the group and I appreciate you letting me join up.

I'm a nurse and did a stint with the neuro-medics. I hope you don't mind me saying... "That's not uncommon, Beth. I'm not saying it happens to everyone, having taken a bang on the head, but you are not alone. I'm sure the medics must have told you of it.
I've never taken a bang but have spent a good deal of my time in quiet spaces. I get wrinkly in noisy places!"
You said, "I couldn’t remember too [much] about it once they let me out. That is common with a bang on the head. It can last for years and years before, if it ever does, come back.
I hope you're okay with me saying: if you are worried at all, I'm sure your GP or a local hospital would be happy to chat about it.

Iain | 1 comments Hi, I'm keen on finding good real-world, plausible thrillers. I joined Gr for that reason; there's so much out there that is beyond comprehension and lauded by the media/publishing houses as a top 100/best seller/next greatest/ etc. etc

Hazel | 1 comments Hi Everyone, I'm Hazel. If I'm not working (in a water sports centre), I'm on the water, or in the water, (unintentionally a lot of the time) or reading. They're a strange lot, the on the water set. You can get soaked through on a water ski, yet should you fall in, the first thing asked when you come ashore is, "Get wet, then?"
My favourite books are thrillers that make good sense and books that I can learn from.
