I loved it, though the tension was sometimes uncomfortable. Again Connely writes so realistically about LAPD and city hall politics. It's amazing these detectives can function with the amount of micromanaging their supervisors do. I thought it was a spectacular story. I wonder how it was researched. Reading th4 book after watching the TV series is not wise. It made the reading a little bit of a slog, as it was all familiar, if not perfectly recalled. My motivation for doing this exercise was to find out about the "different" ending. Well guess what? Thoroughly enjoyed this tale of operating a business in the Caribbean. Even though I wasn't foolish enough to buy a business, I did make several similar mistakes. Nice to know I wasn't alone!
