It's a really good book. It really is. But there is one thing I don't understand. Why do people still quote russian authors (i.e. Boulgakov in this case) in their works? How come it is not yet obvious that russian "culture" spreads blood and murder? Boulgakov, for the record, despised Ukrainians and Ukrainian culture, hated the Ukrainian desire for independence, and spoke negatively about the formation of the Ukrainian state and its leaders.

Here is a similar quote by a Ukrainian writer Shevchenko:
"The time will pass, the pain will pass, the hardships will pass. But the soul, the spirit of the people, will remain forever."
Why not use this quote instead? Wouldn't it be meaningful to support and promote an oppressed and colonized author and culture?

Here is another one from the Tibetan spiritual leader and author, Tenzin Gyatso:
"No matter what difficulties we may face, we must always remember that the human spirit is indestructible."

Do not fall prey to russian propaganda promoting "great russian culture". Think very very hard before quoting russians.
