Crowns of Ice by Krista Street
"Long Live the Queen

Prince Norivun of the Solis Fae had many powerful affinities (abilities) and should have been easily able to overthrow his evil father, but King Novakin used the torture of the Queen against his sons to keep them in line. For years the king appeared to be benevolent and kind and used his powerful son as a scapegoat for all his evils until Prince Norivun found his fated mate who had hidden powers and strength of spirit equal to his own. This was the exciting conclusion to the series and I wasn’t disappointed.

These were all wonderful books full of action and intrigue, magic and romance and Krista street wrote complex lives and characters for the entire series. I had to wait two whole months for this last in the series, but if you haven’t read any of these yet, lucky you they’re all written! I give the series a solid 4.5 for world building, creativity, romance without unnecessary sex scenes and the kind of security action you might see mixing hand weapons with magic. If you like fantasy, action and romance this is a great choice."

The Alpha's Fated Encounter by Roxie Ray
"The Alpha's Fated Encounter was such a good read. The story is told from Maddy's and Nico's perspectives. I liked Maddy, she's smart, kind, and confident, she owns her own business and loves her parents. Maddy starts off sweet but as the story goes on she gets a little darker. Not that I blame her after being attacked and her whole life gets upended, I can understand that the stress is getting to her. However, she stays strong when lesser people would have broken.

Nico is the alpha of the Lorenzo pack and he's a great alpha, as well as a great guy. Nico is kind, caring, patient, protective, and steadfast. Maddy is so lucky that she has Nico as a mate, he's there for her, supporting her in any way he can and giving her a place she can turn to. However, after all the crap that they go through the pressure is starting to take its toll on both but at least they have each other.

Roxie did a great job with the detailed history she gave. The story she told was freaking epic, the stuff of legends, and ingrained it into the story so well, everything just connected. I also like her take on shifters, the bloodlines, hybrids, and talks of werewolves versus wolf shifters. The bigotry that not only humans have against wolf shifters but wolf shifters against hybrids as well. That detail helps build the world a little more.

The story is absolute chaos from the beginning, with non-stop problems and danger around every corner, it was pure excitement. With rival packs, dangerous royals, powerful bloodlines, hidden treasure, assassins, and a history so crazy shifters thought it was a myth, all made for compelling entertainment. How could I not love it?

The Alpha's Fated Encounter was just the first book in the Fated to Royalty series, things are far from finished with the royals. Nico and Maddy have more hard times ahead and face even greater challenges in Fated to Her Alpha Protector, the next book in the series."

People in Glass Houses by Jayne Castle
"Castle pulled me in with the tale of two orphans, a dust bunny, and Guild Hunter rescue. She then pulled us forward as crystal artist Molly Griffin, works on her most ambitious project yet, one that could make her career. A little murder, and finding out the moms have located the Tarnished Knight, have Molly setting things aside and traveling to the Glass House to confront Joshua Knight. Joshua is a talented navigator who lost her sister and the Hollister Expedition team in an uncharted underground tunnel.

Sparks fly when Joshua and Molly meet. He’s annoyed and wants her to leave. Honestly, he doesn’t think she’d survive a night in the house of mirrors, but Molly is full of surprises and soon the two are working together to find the lost team. I loved the back-and-forth banter, a sizzling “enemies to lovers' tale combined with plenty of suspense, danger and alien woo-woo.

I liked Molly from the get go, and despite how gruff Joshua is, it’s easy to understand him and feel compassion. He was psi-burned and is also very talented, and did I mention stubborn. The two worked well together, and their chemistry felt genuine.

Of course, I adored Newton our dust bunny, who loves to eat chips, can sense danger and has excellent taste in people. Secondary characters from family to villains rounded out the story and grounded the characters.

Castle combined a great mystery with sizzling romance, powerful characters, family and humor, keeping me reading past my bedtime. It is unnecessary to read the books in order, as the author explains the world enough in each book. However, I recommend reading all of them!"
