Originally published in 1972 I’ve had this book sitting in my shelf for several years. Finally got around to reading it and enjoyed it immensely. I have lived my entire life in western PA and enjoy everything that fellow Pittsburgher David McCullough ever wrote. This book, like his others, is excellent. Can’t believe I waited so long to read it. I live only a few miles from Saxonburg and this summer I will travel over there to see the Roebling house and church.
