this one was a bit of a mixed bag...

I was a bit annoyed by the nerdy banter which I thought could have been better/funnier/cuter.
Little details about London bothered me, like the colour of the exit signs, if you're going to set your book in an "exotic" location, do your research, try to avoid stereotypes.
More importantly I found a large chunk of the book a bit hard to read, Andrew's secret was weighing on me and I couldn't really enjoy the romance because I kept dreading the revelation and its consequences. I honestly think he should have confessed earlier and maybe the book should have been shorter?

However, there's no denying that the romance does work. They both are sweet in their own ways. The whole thing about being yourself, hiding to protect yourself is actually well done. AND the ending is supremely cute.

I did enjoy this overall and it's a well earned 4 ]]>

What a great series.
I'm not a super fan of Enemies to lovers and I didn't particularly enjoy the first 20% but after that, I thought the story flowed very naturally. Convincing characters. Very enjoyable ]]>

Great setting, the LA of pagers and public phones.
I liked the writing style although I found it a bit difficult to understand at first (a lot of lingo)
The atmosphere is very Noir and reminded me of Ellroy but with only one storyline.
It took me a little while to fully get into it (it's quite a departure from my usual whodunit) but once I was, I really enjoyed it. The last 40% are impossible to put down
Will definitely read book 2 ]]>
