It was a fun and cute read, my first Emily Henry novel. Not a 5 star for me but I felt that it was well written, and I am excited to read her other works. The way of writing was lighthearted and fun and slightly heartwarming, I had good laughs and the mandatory heart pangs and teary eyes.

I really had a great time reading their long conversations for the first time when they were on that first car ride together. It felt cozy and sparkly. Sometimes when Poppy's heart fluttered, mine did too. The characters though... I kind of enjoyed the fact that every character was inherently good (which yes I believe irl too), but it was also slightly off-putting because of the perfect imaginary world it creates, on top of the very intimate yet claimed platonic friendship the MCs have since I opened the book. Albeit fun and a good indulgence, I mean this is a fluffy romance novel right, but I can't help but feel slightly disconnected that everyone was so 'in control' of themselves.
Then there's that hiding of emotions that both Alex and Poppy were doing alllll throughout the book until the very very last bit, it was fine at first but it started to get annoying.
