"In contact with Robert. Great to connect with fellow EU weird fiction authors. Lovecraft and Ligotti come naturally to mind when reading these stories. The highly dense text is filled with dread and uncertainty. But maybe even more than Ligotti, Robert Grains brings a more modern feeling to the weird tale, meaning: it can happen to your friends. There are both short and long stories here, and I think I like the shorter ones more. Especially the ones with some kind of ‘urban� feel to it. I feel that the almost ‘essay�-like stories might be too dense for my taste. Because there are no line breaks for the small font on large pages, it exhaust the reader fairly quickly. I recommend reading it slowly and not one after the other. (Not only will you exhaust yourself, you might loose your sanity). Music recommendation when reading this: Humanity’s Last Breath. It has no mercy for the reader/listener, no salvation for the characters, just plain terror. A ‘djoef up je mulle� (slap in the face) like we say it in West-Flanders."
