"DNF at page 54.

I don’t usually log my DNFs, but this has to be said: you cannot write a 600 page book about women’s bodies and how they have uniquely evolved in distinct ways from men only to disregard that and act like sometimes men CAN do these things—like when they don’t identify as men 🤗. That’s not how human biology works, and you should know that!"

I hope this comment is satire. I’m not an internet creep, what? One day she’s going to have questions and I would like to have answers. You’re obviously not a mother. No, I’m not empathetic towards an idiot who almost kills her kid with her stupidity. An idiot is an idiot. Waiting for the NHS while you die is way worse than getting a bill. Pro tip, if you don’t pay nothing happens. But if you like socialized medicine have fun with that. Just leave me out of it. ]]>

An interesting history of the neighborhood the neighborhood grew up in, in New Jersey. And while everyone pretends they just don't know what happened and acts like it's white people's fault for white flight, he acknowledges what really happened. ]]>

A deep dive into a bunch of cases of fake hate crimes. It was interesting, but I've heard most of these before, and it wasn't really surprising. I didn't like his brief mention of rape hoaxes, conflating the low number of rape convictions with false accusations. He went over the Duke across false accusations. It was many years ago, and it's not like these are coming up often, much less often than the fake racism crimes. The warehouses full of untested rape kids are probably a better explanation for the large number of uncorroborated rape accusations. Rape is common and not newsworthy, and only the craziest stories or those involving celebrities will make it onto the news. So there's reason to be skeptical of crazy stories like an entire sports team raping a prostitute, or ones involving celebrities, especially politicians during election season. The Brett Cavanaugh accusation would have been a good case to cover in the book. For every Duke lacrosse accusation, there are 100 Steubenville or Koby Bryant rape cases. ]]>

I found this book really sad. It's about being an elderly widow, not having kids living nearby, and by herself spending a year going through each room of her house throwing things away. So that she can move into a smaller space and wait to die. It will make you feel bad about not wanting to get rid of all your possessions. Like it's a bad thing to own objects. ]]>

I don’t think you understand what a metaphors is. But regardless, the incest taboo is innate but not perfect. The rate of bio fathers abusing their daughters is much lower than for step-fathers. Does it still happen? Yes. And it seems to run in families so there’s probably a genetic component so not all humans have got the no incest adaptation. But what a weird thing to critique him on? ]]>
