"I give this one a 5/5 -- it's dark, horrific, gory, and genuinely haunting. I checked out a copy of the audiobook from Libby (read by Shaan Dasani, Graham Halstead, and Avi Roque) and couldn't put it down. It's been a year since I finished my degree in religion, and this novel pulled me right back into the world of history, Biblical scriptures, and community dynamics (particularly those surrounding religious belief).

Per-usual, I hadn't given much attention to the trigger warnings before starting, and OH BOY--right off the bat, I see why the author lists the CWs in the book. This is not an adventure for anyone who gets squicked by gore. This is a very, VERY bloody book with a lot of bodily fluids... everywhere. "
