bookshelves: crime-mystery

The Girl With No Name is book two in the Detective Josie Quinn series by Lisa Regan. Chief of Police of Denton, Josie Quinn, caught a new case about a missing newborn baby and the attack on her mother. The only witness is a young woman seen running from the scene. However, when she found the witness at her fiancé's home, she did not remember what had happened. The deeper Detective Josie Quinn's investigation went, the more convinced she became that they were all linked to several murders in Denton. So, is the young woman with no name a victim, a killer or a witness to the murders? Readers of The Girl With No Name will continue to follow Detective Josie Quinn's investigation to discover what happens next.

The Girl With No Name is another excellent addition to this fantastic series by Lisa Regan. The more I read books in this series, the more I become engaged with the main characters and how they intertwine with the plots of Lisa Regan's books. I was not disappointed with reading The Girl With No Name. It helps me want to read more books in this series.

I love Lisa Regan's portrayal of her characters and how they intertwine throughout this book. The Girl With No Name is well-written and researched by Lisa Regan. I like Lisa Regan's description of the settings of The Girl With No Name, which allowed me to imagine being part of the book's plot.

bookshelves: cozy-mysteries
Murder After Midnight is book four in the Northwest Cozy Mystery series by Dianne Harman. DeeDee was happy that the Dana Donnelly New Year's Eve party she catered for was successful. However, the happiness did not last long when Dana Donnelly's body was found near her pool house. DeeDee started to get threatening letters from the murderer, who believed she had seen the killer. DeeDee thought she had no one to help her, but her sister was worried and contacted her ex-boyfriend, Jake. Jake was worried that DeeDee would not listen to him, so he contacted a friend, a retired enforcer for the local mafia, Al De Duca, to protect DeeDee. Will Al and Jake be able to keep DeeDee alive? Readers of Murder After Midnight will continue to follow Jake, Al, and DeeDee to discover what happens next.

At first, I was worried that I wouldn't enjoy reading this book because it was the first book I had read by Dianne Harker. However, my fear was unnecessary, as I was drawn to this lovely, cozy mystery from the very first page.

The Queen of Cozy Mountain is book two by Pamela Grandstaff in the Cozy Mountain Mysteries. When Emma inherited a Victorian Mansion, she thought her life was going in the right direction. The Queen of Cozy Mountain is the first book I read by Pamela Grandstaff, and I was engaged with the story and characters from the very first page. Ross. Dr Alexander Gregory attended an FBI conference with his friend, Professor Bill Douglas, at Quantico, where two FBI Agents asked Dr Gregory to go undercover at a local private psychiatric hospital to find their witness. Dr Alexander Gregory did say yes. However, it brought up unpleasant memories from his past that could impact his future. The readers of Bedlam will continue to follow Dr Alexander Gregory to see what happens.

I enjoy reading other books by L. J. Ross, so I decided to read Bedlam, the first book in the Alexander Gregory Thriller series. I am pleased that I did Bedlam. bookshelves: romance
Dishonorable Hero: A Terlizzi Family Prequel by Cora Kent. Luciano Terlizzi's brother made the mistake of getting on the wrong side of Giovanni Lucatello and accepted his brother's punishment. At the same time, Giovanni Lucatello's daughter Gianna started to resent her father's demanding and controlling behaviour towards her. Will Luciano and Gianna join together to escape the family? The readers of Dishonorable Hero will continue to follow Luciano and Gianna to discover what happened.

Dishonorable Hero is an enjoyable dark romance short story about family honour and betrayal. This book also allows readers to become familiar with the main characters before starting a new series by Cora Kent. Reading this book also prompted me to think about the dangers of children living in a controlling environment. Cora Kent does an excellent job of highlighting the beliefs of the Mafia family. I love Cora Kent's writing style, the way she portrayed her characters, and their interaction with each other throughout this book. Dishonorable Hero is well-written and researched by Cora Kent. I appreciate Cora Kent's description of the settings in Dishonourable Hero, which complements the book's plot.
