THE ENDING? HELLO? R.F KUANG BURIED MY DAMN HEART AND I CAN’T GET IT BACK. TWO WORDS: EMOTIONAL TURMOIL.

this series is like coming home, taking a warm shower, and cuddling with blankets. is it about the horrors & physiological affects of war and genocide? perhaps. does it fill me with absolute rage, dread, but also immense hope? yes, and r.f kuang has risen to my top ranks for favorite authors. not only can she weave a compelling narrative filled to the brim with angst, chaos, and plottwists, but she also centers flawed characters who have to navigate the wars within themselves along with the ones in their home. scratch the guilty out of guilty pleasure, this was an immaculate and impactful journey that i will never forget.
