"Watchman Nee's The Normal Christian Life offers great insight into the efficacy of both the Blood and the Cross of Christ. Nee does a good job distinguishing the working of Christ in man as it is laid out in Romans.

The book would've been much easier to study had Watchman used one translation throughout his work. Lacking a consistent translation of the Greek and Hebrew, I find myself skeptical of some of his teaching. One major concern I have around the use of English in this book is surrounding the word "begotten."

Watchman's contention that we become begotten sons of God lacks the proper distinction between the begotten Son of God, Christ Jesus, and the adopted sons of God, those saved by faith in the Lord Jesus. His misuse of the word is alarming given that Christ being the only begotten Son of God is an essential component to the doctrine of the trinity and is not the same as being adopted into sonship.

Despite some theological concerns I have with the text, Watchman Nee does a good job of laying out how to live "the normal Christian life.""
