Rachel is on page 10 of 541 of The Ballad of Songbirds and Snakes: I didn't really care for this book the first time I read it. I decided to read it again after seeing the movie and rereading the original trilogy. We'll see if my opinion changes after a second read. I feel like Suzanne Collins does such a good job with her books and this universe that there's probably more to this book than I gave it credit for the first time.

I love your review! It makes me want to go back through and read the books as an adult! ]]>

In Cold Blood by Truman Capote
"A very thoughtful, intriguing book. I was surprised at how much detail Capote included, and how deeply he delved into the psyche of Smith and Hickock. I think the book is a real testament to how cheap and exploitative much of the modern true crime genre has become. "

4.5 Stars rounded up

Before my review: I fully acknowledge that there are many cases (my own included) where therapy and medicine are very important and key to being able to get yourself into a place where you are able to feel happier again. I personally know that some of the things that are mentioned in this book are so much harder when your own body or mind are sabotaging your ability to be happy so sometimes there are outside things that need to be done first.
That said, I really liked this book. I really did not like Isadora for a lot of this book because I felt like she really didn’t get it but I think that was the point. I loved her supporting characters and think that her growth throughout the story was very real. ]]>

3.5 stars rounded up. I’m glad to have the resolution, which is the real reason I wanted to read this. I admit I was very angry at Paedyn for a lot of the book. Anger aside, the events pulled together well and it ended in a way that worked for me. ]]>
