"What an exciting read this was! I loved Roxan's world building, even though set in London, UK, it felt miles away from real life. Eira, a doctor meets Cole Hawkins, a patient brought in near death, he's contracted the virus, a virus that turns skin and veins black, slowly taking over the body. Unbeknownst to some of her colleagues, Eira is what she calls a hybrid, a half human, half elf and she has magical powers. She saves Cole and their journey begins!

I love the gothic and magical aspect to this, gargoyles, magic, magical rings and pendants, telepathy. It has it all! I loved Oran, he's mysterious but also protective of those he cares about and it shines through.

I also love Elowen, Eira's friend. Nothing fazes her, when Oran shows his true self, she embraces it. I love the little team they create, the found family and the love and trust built.

A fab first book to a set and will grab book two shortly! With that ending, I need to know more!"
