the book is perfect. it brings a lot of inspiration of studing to me and i feel lucky and grateful for my adequate living condition. it is also well-written and has some meaningful sentences. At the end of each chapter, i often thinks about it very much. The life is not equal to everyone. For Lintang, who has a lot of passion of studying and are genius about science, can't continue to study because of poor living condition. At the end of this book, we still can see Lintang, an intelligence person, with a regret. For me, this book is not well written (maybe because i read the vietnamese translation), but Uncle Tom's character make me think very much. Uncle Tom is a slave, but he is spritually free. He believes in God, he does whatever thing he thinks it's right. So a white slave owner can own his body but not his soul. This book condemns racism and people who sells their souls to devil because of money. I also like the way to find freedom by violence by some black people in the book.
