I love Murakami's way of writing. The text just flows. I love how most of his characters (very much self aware as they are) seem to just go through life effortlessly, gliding from one frame to the other, enjoying those little moments in life while mostly ignoring the "rest of the world." They might seem indifferent but their journeys and achievements are usually internal and they love music, art etc. We can say they are the kind of people the modern world would call "people without ambition."

On the other hand, I tend to zone out when he starts on the surreal "magical realism" parts. The are too vague, abstract and weird for me. And not all of them make sense ... But most fans seem to love that dream-like "trip". ]]>

Dream Count by Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie
"Dream Count is the book I needed to read. It is a beautiful story of sisterhood. I wish I could say more but the feelings I felt from reading Chiamaka and Zikora's first two chapters almost killed me. The honesty in their experiences read more like a documentary and less like fiction. I respect work that allows me to feel, without asking me to feel. I am grateful Chimamanda still writes.

I hope she writes again soon."

Africa is addicted to aid. For the past sixty years it has been fed aid. Like any addict it needs and depends on its regular fix, finding it hard, if not impossible, to contemplate existence in an aid-less world. In Africa, the West has found its perfect client to deal to. Dambisa Moyo
