WHY HAVENT I READ THIS SOONER? i’ve had this book sat, collecting dust, on my shelf for years and i’m so mad because this definitely deserved all the hype it got. i could not put this down, i kept reading until three in the morning to find out who the killer was (i didn’t figure it out and had no clue until the end).
although this is a ya book, it was written so well especially the crime aspects and plot twists. it literally had me being suspicious of everyone as all the characters have so much depth and flaws.

oh they could never make me hate you pip. i loved reading her reasoning and thought process throughout the book. i literally aspire to have her determination and intelligence. im so happy that she was an actual likeable character well that’s what i think because found out some people didn’t like her HUH

he’s such a gentleman and a sweetheart. im so happy he got the ending and closure he 100% deserved. i loved his humour and respect to pippa and i can’t wait to see him more in the series. i don’t think there is much else i can say because there is literally nothing wrong with him despite how bad he got treated by some of the other characters. my man did no wrong !!

im so so excited to read the next two books in the trilogy as i feel like there are so many loose ends left especially with jason bell and max hastings (i hate him with burning rage please i beg someone kill him off). anyways, i did NOT expect that ending but the thing im most sad about is that BARNEY WAS SUPPOSED TO LIVE. ugh i want to sob every-time i think about barney because that sweet dog did not deserve that. i could’ve forgive becca for killing andie BUT NOT BARNEY.

i feel as though sal was the real victim here, he deserved so much better and my heart breaks that the town turned him into a villain. i can’t believe elliot and becca got away with that for five years. the fact elliot abducted the wrong person is actually wild to me like what.

i have too many thoughts about this book but everything about it is perfect to me from the writing structure and layout to some of the most loveable and unloveable characters ever all in one book.
