Are the spicy scenes unnecessary if they are done well? I disagree that the book ends on a cliffhanger. I assume you are excluding the epilogue flashback from Arwin's perspective (sorry if misspelled I only have audiobook), which I will also disregard. I think it is very obvious that the magic super healer will do her thing which puts everyone on solid ground. That ground is far from perfect (NEED BOOK 2) but I wouldn't call it cliffhanger. Everyone in this case meaning our protagonists plus super healer + captain my captain which are basically the only characters who matter excluding the villain and the overabundance of parents who have all gotten a bad case of DPR (Disney parent removal).

What stupid decisions? I will admit not all the decisions made by the characters were perfect but for the most part they were understandable based on the emotions at play. I loved it, I don't feel like doing a book report here but all the story/character aspects were great. I will however give my take on the sex scenes. Yes, there were a few of them and they were longer than typical in this kind of book. I have 2 things to say on that front. First, if you don't like them they are perfectly skippable, it isn't like the plot/characters are being developed in the sex scenes, they are just smut. Second, the smut is well done. And actually, good smut is not super available.

In short, to everyone complaining about the sex scenes.
