3.5â­� This man knows how to write kick-butt heroes! The MMC "handles the bodies" at a funeral home and in life when he investigates the sudden death of a pastor. There are seedy characters and small town lore that I ate up! There is violence, sex and scandal. It's a good book.

This is my third book of his, and while I was not disappointed per se, it was not my favorite. I could tell this was one of his earlier titles. It's raw and gritty and almost uncouth, whereas his later books are more refined. It did not take away from my reading experience, but was noted because of the obvious difference.

SA Cosby is an auto-buy author for me, so of course I recommend this book. 1 â­� Unfortunately, I have to rate this book extremely low. It is evident my library was given an unedited version. It was riddled with grammatical errors, but I could have given a measure of grace for this if the story was any good.

The concept is fun, is why I picked it up. A female bodyguard for a high-profile, male actor, but it just wasn't much fun at all. The characters were flat and boring and the banter lacked interest. I just couldn't bring myself to care about the characters or the story.
