Caio by LS Delorme
"Here is my review for Caio by L S Delorme

I found this to be a terrific supernatural thriller with a hint of romance that really pulls at the heart strings in places. I thought the story started at a slow pace but it soon ratched up the speed and got super interesting. Sarah was an intriguing character who had her own troubles to contend with as well as working as a paralegal in a busy prestigious law firm in Brooklyn. She dealt with a lot of research for the cases that crossed her desk and she got her teeth into one particular case. She got more involved then she should especially after she was mistreated by her boyfriend. Also, she hears voices in her head trying to give her advice but she is great at shutting them up. I liked Sarah’s character and she did try to do the right thing although her hands were tied. The story was a brilliant read and really drew me into it. I found it hard to put the book down as I just wanted to know what was going to happen next. The author has really used her imagination well to write this terrific story and thought it out well. She has planned the characters terrifically and you can feel the nastiest come through the page. The story is set in a diary style which I like reading, it seems to read quicker. I have read this author before and love her writing style, it makes the book so easy to read. I found the book easy to get into as I liked the story. It’s a great storyline and that drew me to read the book. I look forward to reading more from this author in the future.

Blurb :

Sarah Baker is a paralegal in a law firm in modern-day Brooklyn. Her life is bouncing between her abusive lawyer boyfriend, the voices she hears in her head and her soul-sucking work at the law firm. On a New York spring day, she meets Caio as he plays basketball on a street court.

He is alluring, intriguing and young. Yet that’s the least of his mystery, for Caio was beaten, thrown into a hole and left to die. In 1905.

Sarah tries to understand this enigmatic stranger while juggling the dubious ethics of her law firm and the ghosts in her head. As she struggles with loss, grief, love, beauty and lawyers, she will need to summon the strength to break all of society’s rules, save several lives and step into a new and potentially magical life.

Caio is the opening book of a new series of supernatural romantic thrillers that will pull on your heartstrings, challenge your perceptions and lead you on a singular journey of discovery and revelation.

Caio by LS Delorme
"
Here is my review about this book. I won’t have any spoilers but I will say that this book had me in my feelings. True to the author note this has major trigger warnings. This book evoked major feelings in me from disbelief, disgust, anger to curiosity, satisfaction and relief with a major feeling of frustration towards the end. She left me wanting with the ending. I even had to take a day to process all these big emotions before writing this review. What I can say is that once got started I couldn’t put it down. It took me less than a day to read it.

Furthermore, Mrs. Delorme background is in law and you can see her experience of being a lawyer in this book. However, that dark sections of this book left me wondering what cases she dealt with. She did say she is a “recovering lawyer.”

So if you are looking for a quick dark romantic thriller with just a touch of the supernatural then this is your book."

Caio by LS Delorme
"When I heard about Caio, I felt excited and couldn't wait to read it. I hadn't come across the author before and so wasn't sure what to expect.  This yeark have been in a big reading slump, but this book managed to pull me out of it and kept my interest throughout.

There are several layers to this book and it was captivating to see how things unfolded.

A multi genre thriller you need to read!"

Thank you Anja! I’m so glad you liked it. There are 4 books in this series already published. The last four are written and in various stages of edit. You can read Caio, Bright Midnights and Fanning Fireflies in any order but to read the 4th book, Ghosting Academy, it’s best to have read Caio and Bright Mixnights at least. Hope to see you at one of the conventions this spring! ]]>

There is no pedophilia in this book. Amelie is a grown woman. ]]>

I must admit that I am very confused by this review. This book contains no romantic subplot between teacher and student. In my other book, Bright Midnights, one of the villains is a teacher obsessed with the main character but it is far from romantic. So I’m very confused. ]]>
