I really enjoy this series with it's overall love of Jane Austen. Like the coziness of the location. Mystery always keeps me guessing. Also they're not super long. You can finish in a couple of days. ]]>

1X Ever since Magnus Bane first mentioned her, I've always wanted to read Anna's story:
"It felt like watching Will’s niece, brash, laughing, cheroot-smoking Anna Lightwood—one of the few Lightwoods he had liked."
Look forward to reading more about her whenever The Last Hours Trilogy is finally published. Loved seeing Isabelle's Ruby Necklace make an appearance.

My original review from 2017: I want to spend a month in Italy. Love all the descriptions of flowers.

This time not so much. Maybe it was because I listened to audiobook, I found the characters annoying. [spoilers removed]

So I'm bumping my stars down from 5 to 3. I think it was the flowers that caused me to rate so high. Who knows maybe I'll read in another 8 years and see if my opinion changes again. ]]>

I really like when authors take side characters and give them a main story. I've never given any thought to what would have happened to Charlotte if Mr. Collins died so this was interesting. Also left me wondering 'Who gets Longbourn?'

Mary Bennet of this story is totally different from original. Found it a little hard to believe that she changed that much, but I can go with it. One thing did bother me. Charlotte writing her sister and asking if their aunt's companion was more than a 'friend'. Charlotte is way too practical to put something so scandalous, for the time, in a letter. A letter that could have been lost or anyone could have read.

All and all a sweet love story that I enjoyed. Happy to have read ARC but not one I would buy for my All Things Austen shelf. ]]>
