Very much not for me but I don't think it's bad and I would recommend it to other people - probably to people with children. For me, it was just so difficult to connect to or care about the main character and there weren't really any other characters for me to care about. Maybe it's because I've never wanted to be a parent and have always seen motherhood as a horrific sort of death but, I didn't care if she turned into a dog. In fact, I wanted her to turn into literally anything that would give her life SOMETHING. She seemed so miserable with her being stuck at home, with not really having any friends, with an absentee husband. Just resentful and miserable and lonely. One of the saddest parts of SAHMotherhood to me is choosing to accept a paycheck as a substitute for engagement in the family and relationship but it's a tradeoff that seems like just ... the norm?
