Hello Roger. So glad you enjoyed the book but I wonder if you could tell me what edition you were reading? You made me worry and then realise for the first time that for some reason the W.F.Howes edition left out my author's note/acknowledgements, without consultation, for which I apologise profoundly. I'm grateful that you've pointed this out. The Zaffre editions state very clearly how I came to use the Bells' story and where I have departed from it.
