Technically this book was a 3.5!

I will admit that the entire first half of this book is hefty with fantasy terms of the world and things can get jumbled VERY quickly. Not going to lie I got a little lost when so many terms were mentioned so quick without background BUT being such a big fan of Keri Lake's work, I pushed through and honestly I am so glad I did.
Maevyth & Zevander really do not speak until halfway through the book which does keep you wondering how their interactions are going to be.
Maevyth is sweet but strong. I like that she's not typical badxss female boss but she is... just in a more feminine, sweet way. & Silver eyes? Beautiful.
Zevander is god tier. Definitely a top romance bf in my book.
Their tension is delicious and the spice scenes? Unique and exciting.

As far as the fantasy aspect of this world goes (From my understanding Keri Lake tried to focus more heavy on) I think the concept is amazing. A dark world, with different magical beings and almost like a parallel universe. Very cool. Just wish the terms wouldn't have hit so hard so fast.
