Truly stunned by the praise for this ridiculous book. How is anyone getting through the infuriatingly stupid choices this woman is making? Starting with an affair with her professor during which she uses no birth control? Then refuses to hold him accountable and help support his child even though she is completely unable to do so herself? I gave up when she signed - without reading - an agreement with the father’s mother, a cartoon villain. Honestly, I sympathized with the boss when she said “you had nine months to line something up.� And the roommates. Did she think she would just bring a screaming baby home and no one would notice?And “women frowned at her� in the grocery store? Because she’s somehow obviously unmarried? Is this puritan new england?
