Okay. I never spoil things in my reviews but I will today because there is no way I can write this without doing so, so here we go: SPOILERS AHEAD

I was sooo onboard and excited for the premise. It sounded super cute. A wedding planner who didn't want to get married with an ex in the industry... what isn't there to love?
For the pros: I related to the female mc in the beginning (forgot her name because it wasn't memorable) when it came to not wanting marriage so I was looking forward to how she would stand for her boundaries ....
buuuuuuuuuuuut here comes the first con: it turned out being such a letdown because she goes back on it. So poof, there went my representation.
Another pro was that I loved seeing a male character with a 'not-so-manly' job. Loved that so much. I need more of that.

As for the rest of the cons:
-Dude was boring, barely said a word, don't remember his name either
-The book was mainly just telling their past story so it should've just been a damn prequel. give us some balance!
-They barely interact in the present, so there was nothing to root for?!?!? Which leads me to my next point: IF YOU BREAK UP WITH SOMEONE AND YOU HAVEN'T SPOKEN TO THEM IN YEARS..... THEY ARE NOT THE SAME PERSON ANYMORE!!!! IF YOU WANT TO GET BACK TOGETHER YOU CAN'T START FROM WHERE YOU LEFT OFF. WTF. YOU GUYS NEED TO GET TO KNOW EACH OTHER AGAIN BEFORE YOU EVEN THINK ABOUT STARTING ANOTHER RELATIONSHIP. THE LAST RELATIONSHIP IS OVER. START A NEW ONE FOR CHRIST'S SAKE.
You know what, after reliving all of this, forget the 3. This is a 2 star. ]]>

Forget Me Not by Julie Soto
"how disappointing 😭

this has been shoved up my ass front left and sideways, so i thought i’d give it a try and i wish i’d minded my own business

what started off GREAT with a really unique premise and a shot at a second chance romance was told from a past and present pov…but the past turned out being not at all what i expected. 😐 without spoiling, this was a super lust-based relationship with no real development outside of their bantery partnership within their jobs and a very odd situationship because they NEVER get together??? after seeing why they didn’t work out in the past it made sense for them to still not be together presently as there was no solid base for them to grow together as well as them being completely devoid of anything ROMANTIC. which is the whole point of reading a romance book 🤦🏻‍♀"

Forget Me Not by Julie Soto
"Two idiots who wouldn’t know how to communicate if they were given translators decide to start banging even though it’s a terrible idea. She’s a wedding planner who doesn’t know her own mind and he’s a grumpy dick who gets corny tattoos. In case you missed it the first forty-five times it’s mentioned, Ama likes donuts and has a nut allergy that is both deadly and apparently not that bad. Her mother has been married sixteen times and she has never been to therapy; her eyes also sparkle approximately once every four pages. Elliot just wants to be left alone to angrily run his family’s business and I want that for him too. The villain is supposed to be a former colleague but it’s really Ama’s inability to take care of herself. Do not read this book if you are easily annoyed by things."

"There's comfort in routine, familiarity. Especially when the routine doesn't feel like it's actively stifling you as a person, swallowing you hole."
This book will forever be a giant broken heart in my hands. I look at it and I experience the pain I felt over the mc all over again. My heart tightens at the thought of it since her thoughts mirrored my own at various stages of my life. The way she views herself and the world made me tear up a few times. Nobody deserves to ever feel that way. It felt as if I was witnessing a friend dig themselves deeper into a mental hole without being able to reach out and help.
I DESPISE the mc's mom, holy damn. It's been a while since I hated a character for who they actually were not for how clumsily they were written. The fact that I hated this character so much is a compliment to Tori.
I will say though, I could've done without the romance. I wasn't really into it, but it managed to win me over in the end so I'm not judging it too hard for that. I also was very uninterested in the love interest so that added to my dislike. They were very 'meh' for most of the book.
The folk horror aspect was interesting and wonderful to discover along with the mc. I need to read more of this author's works because their writing was beautiful to digest. I literally ache for more words. ]]>
