Such a cute read aloud!

Read this with my oldest and we really enjoyed it.

Great characters makes for fun read aloud voices. The accents were fun! Loved the sketches throughout the novel. The action was really engaging once we got past the initial introductory chapters. It was a little confusing to set the story within another story (the nurse/tutor/old lady telling the story to a young girl about her brother as a young boy). But once we got our bearings on what was happening, it was really fun! We loved the borrowers themselves and the descriptions of their home and the way they use things for different purposes. Also loved the relationship between Arietty and the boy.

I was so honored to be a part of Julie's ARC team for the first time for her novel Off the Wall -- the latest book in the Only Magic in the Building series! Julie's books are so delightful and sweet. This is such a fun addition to her collection!

Nori is so easy to cheer for. I loved her determination to be independent and the ways she cares for those around her. I want to come to Serendipi-Tea and try all the baked goods! She has had some tough experiences in life like losing her parents so young. Yet she is so vibrant and joyful. I loved getting to know her. And I absolutely loved seeing her fall in love with Cash.

Cash is a great MMC. I loved his work ethic and how he wants to make the world a better place. He has also overcome a lot with his traumatic injury and the end of his baseball career. Seeing him realize how his life can be more joyful and meaningful was beautiful. I loved how Nori became such an important person to him ("we're a whole hand now") and how she helps him see what his life can become.

The magical mirror elements are so fun!! I love the different ways these authors are including magic in these whimsical romances. I loved that they both experience the magic in different ways. And how the building helps them realize how perfect for each other they truly are. And that some things in life are worth sacrificing anything for. Such a beautiful romance!
