You would think Millie would be more street savvy and not get involved in this and not shoot someone. Call the police if you think someone is getting strangled. Enzo showed up at the just the right time. A little too easy. I don't see why Enzo is so attracted to Millie or why he thinks she's so kind. All in all, the story is entertaining. ]]>

A very disappointing book. I heard great things about this book but it fizzled out for me. Sometimes not knowing is worse than a bad thing happening. The Family should have told Alice and the authorities there was an accident and Bear died. Not knowing and not remembering all those years ruined Alice and ruined Alice being a mother for Barbara. This is a bad, bad family. Judy is bad too. Barbara is a minor. Judy has a duty to report that she knows where Barbara is. This will be another unknown for Alice. It's just not right. A bunch of bad characters. Not the great book I thought it would be. ]]>

Excellent. Worth Reading. If you listen to the podcast, it's all the same stuff but it's nice to read it all at once.

All the casual sex is appalling. Francesca sleeping with her ex-husband is disgusting. Lila sleeping with two different men on the first date is repulsive. Woman need to respect themselves and their bodies. This type of behavior sends a bad message to women reading the book. That issue aside- the story moved along and there were many subplots that tied together. How did Francesca ever get together with Bill? I feel sorry for Dan. In six months he will be in the same boat in his new relationship and still have his two older daughters to provide for. If Gene is so good with kids, why did he "drop the ball" on his own daughter?
A mistakes theme.
Francesa made a mistake by sleeping with Gene
Lila made a mistake by sleeping with the widower
Celie made a mistake by befriending bad people
