I'm not an avid reader of King. This was the second time I decided to read from him and I don't think if it was for me. The almost first 200 pages were about developing the story and the characters which kept me in suspense. A well-researched narrative of a scenario where a nuclear war happens. It ends civilisation in less than an hour. It is an apocalypse in which the unlikely survivors wish they were dead.

The shocking declassified facts and the striking speed of escalation of such a war made my heart pounding as I was reading it and imagining the scenario.
