Having read other works from this author I was a little intrigued to her mafia inspired romance world and curious as to whether it was going to be as good as her other romance books and personally for me I was well and truly happy with her storytelling. Honestly there is something quite riveting about the whole 'enemies to lovers' genre/trope that I find exhilarating to read. Simply because I know there is always this underlying dark sensation of sexual tensions and angst that comes from this genre, which makes it compelling to read. Again, its also that other issue that seems to appear where the FMC tends to hold this magical emotion to break down the coldest and hardest of men. Almost like a hidden secret skill they hold.
From my perspective it was a well created plot and 'yes' I guess with most of the mafia inspired romances they all have their similarities but there is always something that makes each standout from the others. For me it tends to be the characters and certainly when the lead female holds that sense of power, strength and resiliency that holds true to me. Even though this is stated as the second book in the Mafia Enemies to Lovers series and I have not read the first I was able to successfully navigate this story without the first book, but now driven to finding out more.

I think surreptitiously we all love the idea of being secretly admired from a strong protector and this book successfully delivers this very sentiment.
Loved the characters and thought it was an extremely well created plot filled sufficiently with action, dramas, emotional turmoil, physical scenarios that all added nicely to the reading experience. Definitely an Author I will search out for any further reading opportunities.

A brilliant continuation from book one in the series and everything is simply heating up now between Cayenne and each of her pack men. I love how the Author has created the lead female, Cayenne with her own set of doubts, weaknesses
(which are pretty minimal) but has this incredible strength of resiliency to her. It's always stated that opposites attract but in this scenario it seems to be similarities are what binds them together. A definite read as a series, not standalone but after finishing book one I automatically bought the rest of this series because I need to know both, how it will end and simply more of these great characters. A thrilling and emotional romance read but with a tinge or two of some very dark moments. Loved the characters and certainly how two very similar 'broken' identities seemed to find connections to one another. As depressing at how mental health can really damage a person I'm definitely a lover at how this trope is used to bring hope, warmth & love to those that slip into society's black box.
