So I have mixed feelings about it , I’m definitely disappointed and it’s totally my fault going into this one with a whole different idea, I didn’t sign up for that dramatic turn of events, and it was absolutely a wrong choice for a cozy Eid read . But Backman’s unique writing style forces you to keep reading because simply you’re so engaged in everyone’s lives that you can’t put the book down.
it started out talking about hockey, and young dedicated players, teamwork and team spirit, and the sense of belonging and fighting for a small club town , and this was all I needed to fall in love with the book .
Then a sudden turn of events took place “the book was actually building up for that , but I still didn’t see it coming “and everything shattered and crumbled, and you get to see the effect of this on everyone’s lives .
One thing about the author is that he makes you connected to all of his characters that when one of them makes a mistake-a fatal one - you still see them as the people they used to be before doing this mistake, so you can’t just cross them entirely as bad people, just like in real life, humans are not black and white, they are spectrum of colors.
