This is almost a perfect modern superhero comic run. A succinct story with three discrete threads that intertwine via intriguing characters and a taught narrative that moves us through the story arc as if on a treadmill. It helps that this book places Peter Parker squarely into the life we all want for him: married to MJ with kids. I like the older Parker look and MJ is pitch perfect. This was solid and a lot of fun. "The Amulet" stole this volume, as did the last story. A narrator who obsesses over another man with a dark soul who does unspeakable things. A cold hearted society which values some lives higher than others. A journey into a heart of darkness.
