I think I'll likely be similarly disappointed by the writing, from what you've described, but there's aspects of some of the stories, including view points and/or heroes/champions of the stories, that have me wanting to read this anyway (if I can find a copy).

one thing I wondered as I read your review was whether the author references any of the sources they used? and if we could follow back to some of the original sources :thinking emoji:

it does sound a shame that the language wasn't more engaging and enjoyable, and the depth to some/many of the stories was lacking. ]]>
