What can I say? I was late to the Emily Henry hype train. I DNFed People We Meet on Vacation and felt completely bored while reading Happy Place. I was convinced her books just weren’t for me—too overhyped and not worth another try. But on a random, bored midnight, I picked this one up� and wow. Now I get it.

This book is everything I could ever want in a romance novel—smart, deeply emotional, and effortlessly charming. The characters felt so real, their chemistry electric, and the writing? Pure magic. The way Emily Henry balances humor, heartbreak, and love is just chef’s kiss. I laughed, I swooned, I even teared up.

I finally understand the hype, and I’m so glad I gave her another shot.
