I feel like this story worked way too hard to be “literary� and missed out on many opportunities to be more entertaining. The author seemed to be trying to make a point, or something, with the excessive run-on sentences when in Izzy’s perspective. Also, why did he keep flip-flopping from referring to the Dr. as Dr. Grinder and Preston?
