Ο σκελετός της ιστορίας ήταν έξυπνος και καλός αλλά η εξέλιξη, η αφήγηση και οι διάλογοι ήταν επιτηδευμένοι. Ο τρόπος που εξελισσόταν η ιστορία κούραζε και θα είχε περισσότερη δράση και μυστήριο με διαφορετική δομή και προσέγγιση.

The Handmaid's Tale is a dystopian fiction written by a female author for a predominantly female target group. This is what a dystopian, totalitarian society will demote women to: a medium for childbirth, restrictive of any other notions of identity, reality or existence. A woman will have no name, except from the relation to her commander, of someone. The writing is touching and insightful; Atwood knows her subject matter well and her words can express the thoughts of her characters conveying all the emotions imposed by this suffocating reality her female characters are part of. I read this book for the first time in 2007 and reread it ten years later and i am sure i will be revisiting this novel in the future, as well as get back into reading more of Atwood's work. I would definitely recommend this.
