The Poppy War by R.F. Kuang
"You know the kind of books where you open the first page and, from the start, the book has you hooked? Where you can't help but love the characters even though they are so skewed and dark, but still you don't want something bad to happen to them—even though deep down you know something bad will happen because the energy is there from the first page. You know from the start that this isn't a simple story. It's dark, it's painful, there will be moments when you have to push through, but still, you can't stop reading because you want to know what will happen next. Because it's just so well-written. It's so well thought-out. It's so well-researched. It's realistic to the point that it doesn't try to cover up the cruel, horrific aspects but instead presents them as they are.

That is the kind of book this is.

Reading this was such an intense experience; it's possibly one of my most tabbed books to date. Every single character is so richly developed and real. It’ll have you fucked up in a hundred different ways by the time you reach the end because of the moral grayness of everything—every character, every action. It's brutal, it's cruel, it's savage, it's barbaric at times. And most of all, it's not for the faint of heart.

An amazing book through and through. Reading this is so freaking worth it, I promise."

The Awakening by Caroline Peckham
"I have to admit that starting off this book I thought wtf at a few things but NOTHING prepared me for how much I was going to love this series! Currently on book 5 and although it’s not amazingly written and there were a few things I cringed at, this book had me in a chokehold. "

Flock by Kate Stewart
"I am 🙈🙈🙈🙈🙈🙈. If anyone’s mom is reading this, I don’t wanna know!!!! 😂🤣😂🤣 I have so many questions. The ending was kinda wild and confusing and I am so ❓❓❓❓ I ran to Google and my fellow readers say all will be revealed in the next book. I almost feel like I need to read Exodus to finalize my rating here. I was pretty sucked in the whole time but I hope the plot starts to make a bit more sense.

Side note: I may be biased because of his name, but I really want Tyler to have his moment. I hope it’s coming. 🔥🔥🔥

Side side note: When Sean said to Cecelia, “We’ve got all the time in the world, like he was James Bond or some shit??? SWOON. 😱 "

I’m glad you loved this book - it’s one of my favorites too! I just love how Jacob’s struggles as an introvert were portrayed, it was a breath of fresh air from normal love interests haha 😅 ]]>

I’ve heard this series gets SIGNIFICANTLY better in the later books, so might still be worth continuing 😆 ]]>
