This book took me a while to read because I was constantly pausing to Google lyrics to songs or to just listen to one. I’ve loved The Beatles since the Sixties but confess that I didn’t really delve deeply into the meanings of the lyrics. I enjoyed a little backstory as to what was going on at the time of writing the song. I was a little lost when the technical aspects of a song were discussed but know that a more musically knowledgeable reader would find it interesting . My one critique is about the many times when the author discusses what John or Paul was thinking or their motivations for behavior. Unless John or Paul disclosed the information (and, if so, why not use a quote?), how would he know? "Alice Feeney is one of my favorite authors. I love the suspense and mystery building throughout her books, and have learned never to trust any of her characters. I read this book like I was gulping water on a hot day. Why 4 stars? I still can’t come to terms with the ending. It was either brilliant or the easy way out. "
