2nd May 2025 - Update! Upon reflection, while filming my wrap up and after seeing a couple of other reviews, I'm altering my rating to 3.5 stars. I feel like the Cam we got in book 3 was a powerhouse and unstoppable and honestly, just a totally different person to the Cam we got in this book. Now I'm aware she went through something shocking and life altering so maybe that changed her but I still feel like, at the end of book 4, she was still a totally different person than the one we got in book 3. Not only that but I feel like I'd built up Dusty and Cam's story in my head (probably too much) and the execution just didn't hit like I thought it was going to. I feel like the ending was quite abrupt, although I did enjoy the extended scene. And the not quite but almost third-act break up was a little frustrating too. I'm glad they sorted it out but it felt unnecessary. This was still a fun time, but just didn't hit like I thought it would. I think I was in a Lyle Sage haze when I first finished this and gave it the rating I WANTED to give it without really thinking about how I actually felt when I'd finished. 3.5 stars is where I've settled.

I'm definitely going to have to go back to book 1 and give it a reread. I must have been having an off day! I really enjoyed this series, and how it ended overall was so cute.

I didn't get it. At all. I don't understand the ending. The premonitions were a little creepy but that's about it. To be fair, I don't have a great history with SGJ books as it is, so I wasn't expecting too much from this.

This was fun and cute. I do think it'd be better as a full length novel. It's missing the angst and depth that I've come to know and love from Kennedy Ryan. But it's to be anticipated with it being a novella. Cute second chance romance though.

*whispers* what the duck was that?! what do you mean? how long do i have to wait for book 2? Dani?! hello?! help me! please...

Well, that was intense. I LOVED this. It took me so much longer to get through than it should have but that is entirely on me and not the book. The atmosphere, the characters, the writing, the intensity, I literally loved all of it. I adore Wren and Cross. I also adore Kaine. But I'm so so on the fence about where we go from here. I feel like we (Wren and us) cannot trust anyone and I literally need book 2 like yesterday. I can't believe I'm going to have to wait to find out what's next.

The early reviews for this have been GLOWING and for good reason. This is how you do yearning and slow-burn enemies-to-lovers. I'm OBSESSED!

Jesus f-king christ! What in the hell was that shit storm?! Much like a car crash, you know you probably shouldn't look, but you just can't stop, this was exactly like that, except it was a huge pile up on the M1 because of fog that just got worse and worse because no one can see beyond the front of their car and so the pile up get's bigger and bigger and entirely out of hand! Just like that sentence.

My head is spinning! So much shit went down in this book. I hate at least 50% of the characters, and probably 95% of them are on my shit list! This was a damn rollercoaster and all I could do was hang on for dear life. I couldn't put this down, it was so addictive. I think I'm gonna have to move on to Daisy Haites a lot quicker than I anticipated.

This was.... slightly confusing. It's supposed to be age-range adults (according to goodreads), but it definitely read like a middlegrade. It didn't keep my attention too well and I just didn't gel with this one too much to be honest. It's such a shame because I love the cover but this one just wasn't for me.
