I did enjoy this one, it was great to have some disability rep in a historical. However the ending just seemed really rushed, and was kinda a let down. Stella had some legitimate worries about their future - would Teddy still love her after the fascination with the painting died down, would his depression return and how would that effect them. All of this was just rather waved aside with some "I love yous" and then the book was over. I wasn't as invested in the story as I was for The Six Deaths of the Saint, but MAN was the world building incredible. The lore? The way the old and new worlds were blended together? The way our world becomes the lore of the future???! Delicious. I picked up this book because of the gorgeous purple cover and let me just say the cover DOES NOT match the contents lmao. However this was still pretty good! Probably as dark as I want to get with my romances, but it was an enjoyable read. The author manages to do angst well without it becoming a downer story.
