"C. Q. Cook’s second novel is truly a delight. I loved the way she expanded and developed the world of Anne and the Alem. I physically couldn’t put the book down. The way Cook writes is addicting, you just have to read more. Seeing Anne come into her own and grow with her powers on top of dealing with typical teenage problems was relatable. Well minus the magical demigod part. Additionally, the new characters weaved seamlessly into the story. Go read this book, you’re not gonna regret it"
