Ready or Not by Cara Bastone
"I am obsessed with this book. I was kind of shocked I loved this as much as I did, because I don't usually love reading about pregnancy, and I also don't usually love the friends to lovers trope, but the set up for this book is fascinating. I love that at the start of this book Eve finds out she's pregnant, and the Father of the baby is this bartender Ethan she had a one-night thing with. Willa is her best friend who has been struggling with infertility so she doesn't take the news very well, so Willa's brother Shep steps in to help Eve with some of the pregnancy things. Shep is so obviously OBSESSED with her and it's ADORABLE. Shep is one of the sweetest, most selfless, cinnamon roll man characters I've ever read in my life and I ADORED them. I nearly cried so many times in this book, it was so wholesome and real. I can't wait to reread this someday soon, I loved everything about this.

Here's the romance reading vlog where I read this book and a few others: "

bookshelves: non-fiction, classics
first part of the book was really good, i genuinely enjoyed it. you can see how this work inspired a lot of those self help books out there. second part? besides being really boring, i did not agree with a lot of the things he was saying. i'm sorry, i had to skip the last 10 pages because i couldn't take it anymore. my body refused to keep going i swear. but IT IS worth reading for the first part of the work. ]]>
