The book has a slow start but gives you a completely different perspective of Ravana and his rule of Lanka as well as him kidnapping Sita. This is definitely a different storyline showcasing a culture of the Asura's which is not very well known, it also shows the caste system and the cultural differences that existed between the Devas and the Asuras.

The book is narrated by Ravana and his friend/servant Bhadra. We feel a better understanding towards Ravana's character and his aspirations for the Asura people. The way the story is narrated definitely is clashing to the way we have heard the story of Ramayana and Ravana, so you will need to keep an open mind to read the book.
