I originally put this book down after reading the journal type format. I never could get into that sort of novel and when the movie came out i figured it was because of poor writing. I watched the movie and was intrigued so thought id try the book again after finding a copy in a used bookstore. i eventually became accustomed to the different journal-like formats used throughout the book and though i saw the movie i still enjoyed the added depth to the characters that always escapes film adaptations. The one item that made me really delve into the books was the relevance of the comet birthmark and how each life tied to the other. i felt the movie probably just overlooked that part. After reading the book however, I didn't find much closure in that respect. Even though the birthmark characters melded paths i didn't feel it mattered much more than a few happenstance characters intertwining without a birthmark. I just thought there'd be more to this commonality i suppose. ]]>

Midnight in Death by J.D. Robb
"I had to buy this one because it is really hard to find, since it is like a "between the numbers" book. Not quite a full book: it's number 7.5 in the series, which is also why I finished it in an afternoon. I really did like it but couldn't go with the full 5 stars...mainly because I wanted more :)

2025: Upgraded to 5 stars because the story is just too good and it fills the slot between books 7 & 8 so well :)"

Naked in Death by J.D. Robb
"As I've promised myself, I am re-reading the In Death series and I couldn't be happier! Probably my all-time favorite series and it will be fun to watch the characters develop :)

2020: the one that started it all :) COVID-19 seems like a good time to enjoy some comfort reading!

2025: It's time! :)"

Glory in Death by J.D. Robb
"2020: you'd think I'd get tired of re-reading this series but, honestly, I do not in the slightest. It's a phenomenal series and...I don't know, I just get lost in it so easily. Sometimes comfort reading is just what is needed.

2025: It's *so* great to have a dependable series always on deck for times when I'm "stuck" at home, as I currently am and unable to walk. Makes being stuck more enjoyable :)"

Very detailed analysis with formulas and data that overwhelmed at times. Reading the intro and conclusion of each section tidied it up so i skipped some of the extraneous information because it mainly reiterated the source data which was largely contradictory. The research was very well documented and i felt Jacob's observations were well warranted after the impressive bibliographical effort. ]]>

I was interested to find only the first half of the book dealt with planets within our solar system. Discussions of the outer limits were high level but kept within a mutually understandable dialogue so the data was easy to follow. ]]>
